Barbora Spackova joins the Soft Matter Lab

Barbora Spackova joins the Soft Matter Lab at the Physics Department of the University of Gothenburg on 1st September 2021.

Barbora has a PhD in physical engineering from the Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic). Formerly, she has been a researcher at Chalmers University of Technology in the group of Prof. Christoph Langhammer. Her research is focused on single-molecule detection in nanofluidic systems.

While part of the Soft Matter Lab, she will continue her research on characterising cell media containing exosomes using Nanofluidic Scattering Microscopy (NSM).

Santhosh Shivan Gurumurthy joins the Soft Matter Lab

Santhosh Shivan Gurumurthy joined the Soft Matter Lab on 15 June 2021.

Santhosh is a master student in Complex Adaptive Systems at Chalmers University of Technology.

During his time at the Soft Matter Lab, he will focus on using Deeptrack tools to simulate microscopic particles, track them using various object detection algorithms, and predict their trajectory with time using graph neural networks (GNN).

Jesús Pineda joins the Soft Matter Lab

Jesús Pineda starts his PhD at the Physics Department of the University of Gothenburg on 16th September 2020.

Jesús has a Master degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar, Cartagena, Colombia.

In his PhD, he will focus on Microscopy and Deep Learning.

Gustaf Sjösten joins the Soft Matter Lab

Gustaf Sjösten joined the Soft Matter Lab on 1 September 2020.

Gustaf Sjösten is a Master student in the Complex Adaptive Systems Master at Chalmers University of Technology.

He will work on his Master thesis on the characterization of nanoparticles in nanochannels with machine learning methods.

Agaton Fransson joins the Soft Matter Lab

Agaton Fransson joined the Soft Matter Lab on 1 September 2020.

Agaton Fransson is a Master student in the Complex Adaptive Systems Master at Chalmers University of Technology.

He will work on his Master thesis on the development of a neural network to track and identify different types of plankton.

Benjamin Midtvedt joins the Soft Matter Lab

Benjamin Midtvedt starts his PhD at the Physics Department of the University of Gothenburg on 1st July 2020.

Benjamin has a Master degree in Engineering Mathematics and Computer Science at Chalmers University of Technology.

In his PhD, he will focus on using deep learning to design particle behaviour when interacting with light.

Martin Selin joins the Soft Matter Lab

Martin Selin starts his PhD at the Physics Department of the University of Gothenburg on 16th March 2020.

Martin has a Master degree in Applied Physics at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden.

In his PhD, he will focus on automating particle trapping using optical tweezers and machine learning.
